Scottsdale’s International School of Arizona earns award in robotics championship

International School of Arizona eighth grader Kai Mangan admits it was pretty intimidating traveling to Iowa City, Iowa, for the VEX Robotics U. S. Open Championship March 23-26.

It was only the third year the school’s program has even existed, the second year working with V5 VEX (metal) robots and the first year being invited to the championship.

“Last year we were kind of learning everything and this year we (applied what they learned),” said Mangan, who is the captain of the four-member team.
