Scottsdale’s first multi-faceted sustainability plan to be developed by end of 2022

City staff, ASU team will present proposed timeline for drafting the plan Oct. 5

City of Scottsdale, with the assistance of Arizona State University, advances in a broader sustainability plan to be implemented within municipal operations and the greater community. 

As part of a 2020 agreement between the city and ASU’s Rob and Melani Walton Sustainability Solutions Services, ASU along with the Scottsdale Environmental Advisory Commission, the Sustainable Scottsdale Steering Committee and other city staff have been developing Scottsdale’s first overarching sustainability plan. 

Staff have been working on a plan that can address sustainability in both city operations and community areas and will present their findings at the Tuesday, Oct. 5, work-study session to the mayor and council.
