Paul Ohanian, founder and CEO of Scottsdale Wealth Planning, announces the creation of a research and education division for the company and has added Dr. Thomas Doellman as an external consultant for the new investment committee.

“Thomas is associate professor of Finance at St. Louis University, and holds a PhD in finance from the University of Florida. His years of market research in retirement investing – the psychology, market analytics, behaviors of investing and awarded papers at top scholarly journals makes his addition to our team highly valuable as well as unique,” said Mr. Ohanian in a prepared statement.

Mr. Doellman’s “insights have been honed and developed through systematic and long-term research into the challenging and complex environment of investing,” according to a press release.

Since 2008, the release said, the country has experienced what is noted as the two most significant financial reversals from the “Great Recession” to the Covid-19 pandemic.

“A number of factors have created new challenges in today’s wealth management environment. Planning for retirement involves choices that are becoming increasingly complex and short lived. Academic research, including my own, has shown that individuals indeed struggle with these growing challenges.

My background in academic research and expertise specific to retirement investing serves to strengthen SWP’s ability to provide holistic financial planning that meets individuals’ unique needs.” said Mr. Doellman in a prepared statement.

Headquartered on Main Street in Scottsdale, SWP provides financial planning and investment management services to clients throughout the country, the release added.
