Scottsdale Water concluded its fall 2025 Citizen Water Academy Oct. 8, giving residents a behind-the-scenes look at one of the nation’s most advanced municipal water utilities.

Over the course of five weeks, more than 30 participants learned about Scottsdale’s water supply, treatment processes and infrastructure through interactive presentations, tours of key facilities — including the Advanced Water Treatment Plant — and hands-on demonstrations with Scottsdale Water experts.

The Citizen Water Academy is designed to foster understanding and appreciation for the complex systems and dedicated professionals that ensure Scottsdale’s water remains safe, reliable and sustainable. Attendees gained firsthand insight into how Scottsdale leads in water innovation, conservation and long-term planning.

The Citizen Water Academy is offered twice a year, with sessions typically filling quickly. Information about future sessions, including registration dates, will be available at ScottsdaleAZ.gov, then search “Citizen Water Academy.”
