Scottsdale voters look to have passed during the Nov. 5 general election a ballot propositions related to the city’s ability to raise money and another on how much it can spend.
While election results are still unofficial - the Maricopa County Recorder’s office hasn’t yet announced the final results of the election, and the Scottsdale City Council has yet to canvass those results - ballot propositions 490 and 491 appear to have passed.
Proposition 490 creates a new 0.15% sales tax for 30 years to fund maintenance and increase public safety issues at the McDowell Sonoran Preserve and the city’s parks, as well as capital projects at WestWorld. It will replace a 0.2% sales tax that expires in 2025.
