‘Real injury’ caused by 2014 flight path changes, city claims

The city of Scottsdale has made its next move in the ongoing legal case against the Federal Aviation Administration, seeking an appeal to revert flight paths back to pre-2014 routes.

On April 26, Scottsdale filed its opening brief in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. The case is city of Scottsdale v. FAA and FAA Administrator Stephen M. Dickson.

Scottsdale claims the FAA’s 2014 change in flight paths — and its actions since — have impacted quality of life for the local residents, including environmental impacts. The city claims to suffer concrete injuries from airplane pollution and impacts.
