The Scottsdale Trolley system will get its operating costs of roughly $1.79 million paid for courtesy of federal COVID relief money.
Specifically, the city of Scottsdale approved moving money from two funds — about $1.01 million from the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act grant and another $775,517 from the American Rescue Plan Act grants to help offset operational costs.
The two federal programs were passed to provide a buffer for municipalities to cover expenses that came with business closures during the various COVID-19 pandemic.
