Scottsdale to spend $2.5M on street control project

The city of Scottsdale agreed to spend up to $2.5 million on a group of four bollards within its Entertainment District to give police ability to close streets during big events.

The project, approved as part of the city council’s Nov. 14 consent agenda, would allow the city to install the movable bollards that could block auto and pedestrian traffic during big events.

The city cited having upwards of 30,000 people in the district at times as well as events coming with Super Bowl LVII in February and others in the need for the traffic devices.
