The city of Scottsdale and Maricopa Association of Governments have entered into an agreement to begin work on expanding Carefree Highway into a four-lane road.
The consent agenda for Scottsdale City Council on Oct. 25 included an intergovernmental agreement for the capital project of Carefree Highway between Scottsdale and Cave Creek roads.
The agreement was made with the Maricopa Association of Governments for administration and reimbursement of the project. MAG is the regional planning agency for Maricopa County.
