Scottsdale students raise money and necessities for those in need

When the 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit Turkey and Syria last month, Alexa Sypel and Emma Treat wanted to do something about the situation.
So the two eighth-graders at the International School of Arizona in Scottsdale joined with the rest of the school’s student council to make a difference.

The group sponsored a “free dress day” in which students, from pre-K to eighth grade, can ditch their school uniforms for a day for a $2 donation.
