Scottsdale students give, receive virtual ‘hugs’ of encouragement

Scottsdale Unified School District students, who participated in the virtual 21st Annual Youth Voices presentation, didn’t miss a beat when they asked if they could give Ken E. Nwadike Jr. virtual hugs.

Donning his trademark, black-colored “Free Hugs” T-shirt with white letters, the “Free Hugs Guy” was the featured speaker on Thursday, Jan. 14 during a virtual, morning assembly.

Madison Chambers and Quintin Somerville, event emcees; the Saguaro Symphonic Orchestra’s performance, directed by Eileen Wright, pre-taped their contributions to the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day recognition.
