Melissa Costa who published her novel, “Escape Gravestone Caverns” at the age of 11 will be the guest speaker at the June 24 meeting of the Scottsdale Society of Women Writers.
The mystery-adventure book is about four friends trapped in a cavern with a 400-year-old secret.
Costa, now in the seventh grade, will share her story behind the book, from the first scribbled notes through revision, cover design and the moment she held her own book in her hands for the first time. Expect honest lessons on doubt, persistence and why the only wrong age to start writing is “later.”
