For the Scottsdale Society of Women Writers’ first meeting in person since the start of the pandemic, Renee Siegel will be ready to help attendees prepare to move on from the pandemic’s trauma and go deeper into their writing.
This month’s meeting will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. at the group’s new in-person location at the Gainey Village Panera Bread, 8777 N. Scottsdale Road, #302. Check-in for the meeting begins at 5:15 p.m. and the meeting begins promptly at 6 p.m.
According to a press release, Renée Siegel has been a counselor and coach for over 40 years. While the pandemic raged, she and a colleague found a way to help many who were struggling. They co-authored a book about trauma, called “Reclaiming YOU,” released on Oct. 25, 2022.
“We started out crafting this book to help others. In the process, the book, helped me, my family and friends. We were all going through things that were out of the ordinary, and sometimes traumatic,” said Siegel in the release.
This is Siegel’s third book, following her others “Lost and Found” and “Considering the Enneagram.” Siegel is currently writing her first children’s book, hopefully to be released sometime next year, the release stated
“You may find yourself wondering if you have challenges, stress, and/or trauma in your life. Hopefully, after we meet you will be able to distinguish what the differences are and come away with some ideas and coping strategies for 2023,” Siegel said.
“Reclaiming YOU” is filled with information to help you better understand trauma. Real people gave permission to the authors to share their stories, including their resilience. Finally, Siegel and her co-author compiled several strategies people use to manage and move through trauma based on their personality type.
The cost of the meeting, $20 per person, covers the food and the room. The menu will consist of sandwich choices, salad choices, chips, cookies and a variety of beverages.
Attendees can pay the meeting fee to organizer Patricia Brooks using her PayPal. The account email is firstname.lastname@example.org. RSVPs and payment for the meeting are due by Jan. 22. The fee cannot be paid at the door.
