Scottsdale settles wrongful arrest lawsuit for $150K

The city of Scottsdale is settling a wrongful arrest lawsuit in U.S. District Court brought against it by Tempe resident Andres Dominguez for $150,000.

The settlement was approved as part of the council’s consent agenda June 27.

Two officers used unwarranted force against Dominguez, according to the January 2021 initial complaint, to remove him from his car and throw him to the ground during a traffic stop shortly after 7 p.m. Jan. 19, 2020.
