Scottsdale settles tripping lawsuit for $50K

The Scottsdale City Council is expected to approve during Tuesday’s meeting a lawsuit settlement for $50,000 with a man who tripped over a raised sidewalk.

Stanley Greenleaf was originally seeking $750,000 for the accident, according to city records.

“As a direct and proximate cause of (the city’s) negligence, (Greenleaf) sustained physical injuries and damages including medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages, damage to his own property and other pecuniary damages, both past and future,” Greenleaf’s initial complaint states.
