Scottsdale settles lawsuit for $78,000

The city of Scottsdale is settling a lawsuit with a man who claims to have tripped on a sidewalk panel and fell for $78,000.

The city council approved the settlement as part of its consent agenda May 2.

Had the settlement not been approved, the cost to the city to litigate the case would be in excess of $50,000, according to a staff report.
