One day before his 95th birthday, Mike Palizzi’s Scottsdale senior softball team surprised him with a sweet celebration marking the major milestone.
Much to Palizzi’s surprise, he was awarded as an honorary member of the Scottsdale Senior Softball Hall of Fame by his fellow teammates, city of Scottsdale representatives, April Slater of the Parks and Recreation Department, and Jessica Rapp of the Granite Reef Senior Center when he arrived on March 31.
About 60 ball players gathered at Thompson Peak Park to surprise Palizzi before his 95th birthday, which was on April 1.
