Scottsdale schools weigh pros, cons of opening all day

Scottsdale Unified School District educators and students can agree that opening schools for a full day’s instruction is long overdue, but the downside is the obvious threat of contracting and spreading COVID-19 on campuses and in the community.

After the SUSD Governing Board heard from student leaders, faculty and staff at the Feb. 16 meeting, they discussed returning to a full day of operations after spring break.

From in-depth discussions to yet another parent survey, Superintendent Dr. Scott A. Menzel expressed a desire for the SUSD community to contemplate resuming normal operations by the fourth quarter.
