Scottsdale Schools revise policies on wayward students, parents

Getting suspended or expelled from school is not just reserved for students but parents/community members alike as discipline for children and adults is put on the board agenda for Scottsdale public school leaders to address.

In addition to taking action to update policies on overall student discipline, including suspensions and expulsions that entail teacher training, the Scottsdale Unified School District governing board had atop of its Nov. 9 special meeting discussions on revising its policies for public participation at open meetings.

That review followed increasingly antagonistic interactions and a public display of behavior problems at school board meetings locally and nationally.
