Scottsdale receives homeland security grants in preparation for Super Bowl, 2023 events

Scottsdale Police outlines safety measures, terrorism training with funds

The city of Scottsdale has accepted three grants from the Arizona Department of Homeland Security for various safety uses as it prepares to welcome thousands of visitors in early 2023.

On Oct. 18, the Scottsdale City Council approved on consent three separate resolutions, which all related to homeland security grants. They are:

  •  Mapping of high-threat locations and tracking officer response grant: $40,000;
  •  Mobile security barriers grant: $83,810;
  •  Terrorism liaison officers training grant: $25,035.
