Before police swarmed the streets of south Scottsdale making dozens of arrests related to sex trafficking crimes this month, they first manned their computers.
Scottsdale Police Department’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit, along with manpower from the Goodyear, Avondale and Surprise police departments hit the streets and arrested 42 people in a sex trafficking sting July 12 and 13.
The sting netted 42 arrests, including 11 felony offenses and 31 for misdemeanor crimes with charges including child sex trafficking, pandering, prostitution, drug possession and various other criminal activities.
