Scottsdale owes $45K in legal fees in Prop 490 battle

It took some legal wrangling and quick maneuvering on the part of the city council, but Scottsdale residents are having their say on ballot proposition 490.

The measure, which seeks to create a 0.15% sales tax for 30 years to pay for maintenance, personnel and capital improvements at the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, the city’s 44 parks and WestWorld is on the ballot, though it almost wasn’t.

But there’s a cost to getting it on the ballot: $45,461.76 to be precise.
