Scottsdale officials consider Charlie Kirk memorial

Scottsdale will soon have a memorial for Charlie Kirk, if Vice Mayor Adam Kwasman has his way.

Noting that Kirk was a Scottsdale resident and his widow is a Scottsdale native, Kwasman moved during the council’s Nov. 3 meeting to have city manager Greg Caton investigate and report back to the council on the process of erecting a Charlie Kirk memorial.

“Charlie was best known for bringing different voices together, ultimately sacrificing his very life to promulgate the most American of ideals, open dialogue, respectful discourse,” Kwasman said. “These are the fundamental underpinnings of American democracy.”
