Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky said she believes City Manager Greg Caton was trying to undermine her on Jan. 14 when he had her chief of staff Lamar Whitmer escorted from city hall by police during a packed Planning Commission meeting.
Borowsky also said during a Jan. 21 press conference that she believes Caton’s efforts, including pushing staff not to work with her office, are done under the direction of the majority of the council, alluding to only a portion of the council that during her time in office has controlled many votes.
“I think he would tell you himself that he works at the direction of the council majority,” Borowsky said during a press conference. “That’s a reasonable yes.”
