Scottsdale land acquisition provides improvement to community assets

Scottsdale City Council recently acquired a small swath of land from the Arizona Conference of Seventh Day Adventists allowing access to improve a city-owned Park and Ride facility also on property owned by the organization.

Last month, the council consented to purchase 0.12 acres of land adjacent to the city’s northwest pump back site for future expansion of the water pump station. The price of the land was based on an appraisal of the fair market property value completed in June 2020, according to a city staff report, noting land sales in the area.

Negotiations with the nonprofit organization and the city resulted in the purchase offer of $162,700, the report stated, detailing the future expansion of the pump station at 7535 E. Redfield Road.
