The City of Scottsdale was among the count of municipalities, air lines and medical facilities around the world struck by a glitch affecting Microsoft Cloud computing services Friday.
However, the effects of the glitch were minimal and most systems were back up and running before noon, city spokeswoman Holly Peralta said in an email to the Daily Independent.
“The global outage of Windows systems due to a security firewall software update impacted Scottsdale and various departmental systems, requiring overnight remediation efforts by our IT staff,” Peralta wrote. “Most systems are back online or in recovery mode. The city’s IT staff will continue to monitor and remediate any remaining issues.”
