The battle between security technology company Axon and the City of Scottsdale over 1,895 apartments the company plans to build as part of a new world headquarters campus appears to be sliding toward court.
The Scottsdale City Council has on its May 6 consent agenda an item to appropriate $200,000 to hire attorney Dominic Draye with the Phoenix-based law firm of Greenberg Traurig regarding the issue.
Scottsdale City Councilman Barry Graham said the amount won’t be enough to settle the question. He called $200,000 “a first installment” and a “signal” to show Axon the city is prepared to fight.
