Scottsdale, Gilbert, Chandler among top spots for veterans to live: study

A WalletHub study ranks three Valley cities among the best places for veterans to live.

The personal finance website places Scottsdale, Gilbert and Chandler sixth, eighth and eleventh, respectively,  in the study, which took into account employment, economy, quality of life and health as part of its methodology.

Scottsdale, Gilbert, Chandler among top spots for veterans to live: study

A WalletHub study ranks three Valley cities among the best places for veterans to live.

The personal finance website places Scottsdale, Gilbert and Chandler sixth, eighth and eleventh, respectively,  in the study, which took into account employment, economy, quality of life and health as part of its methodology.

More than 18.2 million veterans live in the United Stated, according to a WalletHub release citing numbers from the Veterans Association.

“Despite Uncle Sam’s promises to provide healthcare as well as housing, employment and educational assistance upon their return from service, some cannot secure healthcare, jobs or shelter,” the release stated.

Scottsdale’s highest score in the study was in the quality-of-life category, while Gilbert and Chandler earned high marks for employment.

Leading all cities in overall score was Raleigh, N.C., followed by Austin, Texas, and Orlando, Fla.
