Scottsdale Gallery Association schedules Gold Palette ArtWalk for Nov. 10

Posted

The Scottsdale Gallery Association announced its public art-themed Gold Palette ArtWalk on Thursday, Nov. 10 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. held in honor and celebration of Canal Convergence’s 10th anniversary presenting “Water + Art + Light” throughout Old Town Scottsdale.

According to a press release, the ArtWalk takes place within the Scottsdale Arts District — which runs along Main Street from Scottsdale Road to Goldwater Boulevard and north of Indian School on Marshall Way to 5th Avenue — and features large scale public art installations, including local artist and gallery owner Jeff Zischke’s piece “Droplet,” a large-scale light-up sculpture.

“We encourage art enthusiasts, residents and visitors to come to Old Town to check out Canal Convergence and stroll through the Scottsdale Arts District, all which will be alive with incredible public art installations,” French Thompson of the Scottsdale Gallery Association stated in the release.

“Through our Gold Palette ArtWalk, we’re paying homage to the incredible work of the Canal Convergence over the past 10 years and all the event has done to create awareness of and love for Scottsdale public art.”

Zischke recently opened the doors to his new interactive gallery in Old Town, Zischke Design Gallery and Café, which embraces Hispanic and Spanish culture through its offerings beyond art such as Zortado pour-over coffee and espresso beverages along with fresh gaucha teas and light bites.

His illuminated piece “Droplet” stands approximately eight-foot tall, four-foot wide and two-foot deep. It will be on display during the event in the Casa De Artistas plaza.

The Gold Palette ArtWalks bring together the finest art in Scottsdale including 28 galleries and two museums — Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, the release stated.

The Scottsdale Gallery Association hosts its weekly ArtWalk almost every Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.

In partnership with the city of Scottsdale, the SGA also presents multiple Gold Palette ArtWalk events per year that feature a dedicated theme and activities specific to that theme including demonstrations and more.
