Scottsdale Gallery Association announces Scottsdazzle-themed ArtWalk

Posted

The Scottsdale Gallery Association hosts a spirited Gold Palette ArtWalk with a Scottsdazzle spin 6:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, throughout the Scottsdale Arts District — along Main Street from Scottsdale Road to Goldwater Boulevard and north of Indian School Road on Marshall Way to 5th Avenue, and within participating SGA member galleries.

There will be food and drinks and live entertainment including traditional strolling carolers as they peruse the streets of Old Town and the galleries.

“Our Scottsdazzle ArtWalk is one of our most festive and well-attended of the season,” said Scottsdale Gallery Association President French Thompson. “We love welcoming our art enthusiasts to enjoy our incredible galleries amid the stunning holiday décor presented by the city. We look forward to celebrating the season with everyone.”

Participating SGA members are hosting their own events and exhibitions within their galleries during the event, including:

Altamira Fine Art, 7038 E. Main St.
Altamira Fine Art will host an exhibition and reception for artist Erica Vhay during the ArtWalk. Vhay will be present to meet and mingle with guests.

Art One Gallery, Inc., 4130 N. Marshall Way
During the ArtWalk, art enthusiasts are invited to experience the magic of live coil-building ceramics with local artist Mary Delmege. Guests can immerse themselves in this creative process and explore a treasure trove of art and ceramics crafted by the gallery’s community of local and student artists from around the state, ranging from ages 12 to 95.

On The Edge Gallery, 7045 E. Main St.
During this ArtWalk, On The Edge Gallery features a number of artists including Arlene Meyer (acrylic, mixed media and ceramics artist), Julia Harmon (jewelry artist), Jon Harmon (pen and ink artist) and Tracy Laasch (felted fiber and mixed media artist).

The Legacy Gallery, 7178 E. Main St.
The Legacy Gallery celebrates its 24th annual Holiday Small Works snow, featuring nearly 80 different artists from across the country. The show’s artwork offers a range of diversity in both style and subject matter. The evening also includes an artists’ reception with Tom Browning and an exhibition of his Santa Claus paintings, which will be on display and available to the public.

The Signature Gallery, 7177 E. Main St.
During the Scottsdazzle ArtWalk, The Signature Gallery presents Ron and Sheila Ruiz’ holiday reception, during which the artists’ bronze sculptures will be highlighted. Guests will have the opportunity to engage with the artists, experience their creative process and learn more about their unique patinas.

Wilde Meyer Gallery, 4142 N. Marshall Way
Wilde Meyer Gallery gets into the spirit of the Scottsdazzle ArtWalk with a festive holiday reception during the event and a show of gallery favorite artists’ works, many of which pay homage to the holidays and the winter season.

The Scottsdale Gallery Association’s weekly ArtWalk, held 7-9 p.m. most Thursdays in partnership with the city of Scottsdale, highlights the finest art in Scottsdale featured throughout more than 30 galleries and two museums — Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art and Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of the West. In addition, the SGA’s Gold Palette ArtWalks, with multiple events throughout the year, feature extended hours, a dedicated theme and specialty activities including entertainment, refreshments, demonstrations and more.
