Scottsdale fire chief encourages public to view July 4 fireworks at 'professional displays'

Shannon: Personal fireworks shows are 'yearly problem'

Scottsdale firefighters are concerned about wildfires in the city during the summer - particularly in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.

“This has become a yearly problem,” Scottsdale Fire Chief Tom Shannon stated in a release. “We really need the public to take advantage of other opportunities to celebrate July 4 than attempting a dangerous personal fireworks show.”
