Scottsdale financially set for coming fiscal year

Numbers show improvements in debt, liabilities

The city of Scottsdale is in a strong financial position heading into 2023 according to its latest financial report, but city officials warn Scottsdale should be prepared for anticipated challenges in 2024.

Scottsdale City Council received its financial report for fiscal year 2021-22 during its Jan. 10 work study session. In this report, City Treasurer Sonia Andrews discussed numbers from the report and provided understanding of what the data says about the city’s financial health.

“The audited annual financial report is a very important document,” Andrews said. “Aside from being the city’s official audited financial statements, it provides a lot of detailed information about the city’s finances and it is used by our bond-rating agencies, lenders and investors to assess our financial health.”
