Abrazo Scottsdale Campus is inviting the public to its fall festival Saturday, Oct. 28, where parents can try out the hospital’s operating room robots and children can enjoy Halloween-themed events.
The free, family-friendly event welcomes the public from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 3929 E. Bell Road.
Activities include games, crafts and robots races. Families can try out the Mako and daVinci surgical robots in the hospital’s operating room and learn about minimally invasive surgery procedures from local surgeons.
Students interested in medical and STEM careers are invited to see the hospital’s advanced robotic technology.
Outside activities including a bounce house, face painting and craft stations will be set up in the hospital’s south parking lot. Children can get up-close views of a fire truck, ambulance and rescue helicopter.
October 28 is also National First Responders Day and attendees can sign a “thank you banner” to salute Northeast Valley first responders.
Planned hands-on demonstrations in the Abrazo Scottsdale Campus operating room include the daVinci surgical robot used in numerous types of general surgery procedures, the Mako robot used in hip and knee replacement procedures, and demonstrations of 3D navigation systems for spine and orthopedic procedures.
