Scottsdale districts idea garners little council support

Do you feel adequately represented by the six elected members of Scottsdale City Council? Some councilors currently sitting at the dais seem to be of the mind, if it’s not broke, don’t fix it.

However, some residents say they believe the current system of electing council members is broken. Or rather, it just hasn’t changed as Scottsdale has grown from 2,000 residents to 240,000 residents over 70 years.

A new resident petition and ballot initiative seeking to change how Scottsdale City Council is elected is actively collecting signatures.
