Scottsdale council tells staff to look at public comment timing during meetings

Moving public comment that involves items not on the agenda back to the start of Scottsdale City Council meetings doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon.

Councilwoman Solange Whitehead asked her colleagues during the council’s Aug. 24 meeting to put the issue on an upcoming agenda, but instead the council voted 5-2 to send it to city staff to investigate it and prepare a written response to council.

Councilwoman Jan Dubauskas noted she and Councilwoman Kathy Littlefield held office hours from 4 to 6 p.m. for two Mondays a month for six months to hear public concerns and no one said ever said they could not come in during those hours.
