Scottsdale council candidate claims Axon is pumping money into election

A Scottsdale City Council candidate is disputing claims a political action committee that has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars to discredit three candidates is not backed by Taser manufacturer Axon despite there being no direct financing between the company and the organization.

Candidate Barry Graham, who along with Michelle Ugenti-Rita and Bob Littlefield have been targeted, said he believes the Better Together PAC is using some money from the company.

The director of Better Together, Chris Baker, is registered with the Arizona Secretary of State as a lobbyist for Axon, and the treasurer David Leibowitz has done communications work for the company. A paper trail from Scottsdale to the  Washington, D.C area and back to Scottsdale following money from PAC to PAC suggests a connection to between Axon and Better Together, according to Graham.
