On Aug. 4, Bob Littlefield formally withdrew his candidacy from the Scottsdale City Council race and will not appear on the general election ballot.
In a statement provided to the Scottsdale Independent, Littlefield said it was a “difficult and personally painful” decision to withdraw from the race.
“I made this decision based on the results of the recent primary election and the effect those results have had on the Scottsdale political landscape,” Littlefield said. “My departure from the campaign leaves two strong opponents of overdevelopment in the race who I am confident will capture the two remaining seats on the city council while leaving me free to battle the awful Axon apartment development on the legal and political fronts.”
