On Tuesday, Feb. 17, the Scottsdale Civil War Roundtable hosts Dr. Curt Fields as General Ulysses S. Grant. General Grant will speak on the war and take questions from the audience.
This is the 250th anniversary of the United States and U.S. Grant played a leading role in preserving the Union, and was President in 1876 during the country’s centennial celebrations.
The lecture is free and will begin at 6 p.m. in the Copper Auditorium located on the lower level of the Civic Center branch of the Scottsdale Public Library, 3839 N. Drinkwater Blvd. The doors will open at 5 p.m., which will provide an opportunity for guests to meet the speaker and browse books and view Civil War videos.
