Scottsdale city manager stepping down to take position in Colorado

Last day will be Dec. 29

After eight years as Scottsdale’s top administrator, City Manager Jim Thompson is stepping down.
Thompson turned in his resignation letter to Mayor David Ortega and the rest of the city council Oct. 29. Because the city manager’s position is a charter office, it answers directly to the mayor and council.

Thompson’s resignation is effective Dec. 29.
