Scottsdale City Council continues rezone request for Swags restaurant

Council members won’t enforce private agreement between developers.

A controversial rezoning request for a three-story building to house a restaurant in Old Town called Swags in Old Town will remain on hold until the Scottsdale City Council’s January 9 meeting.

Council heard the request to rezone the .29 acre site at 7323 E. Shoeman during their Dec. 4 meeting, but after adjourning into executive session for about 20 minutes, came back and voted 5-2 to continue the meeting until after the first of the year.

It’s the second continuation of the case.
