The city of Scottsdale has another set of eyes officially watching over its budget.
The city council voted 7-0 to reestablish the budget review commission during its Jan. 14 meeting, and each council member submitted one name to be on the commission during the council’s Jan. 28 meeting.
“The budget review commission will serve in an advisory capacity to the city council for the purpose of reviewing and recommending the operating and capital budgets including reviewing major revenue forecasts, taxes and fees and also budget governing policies,” City Treasurer Sonia Andrews said during the Jan. 14 meeting. “The city council remains responsible for the budget, assessment of taxes and fees and setting policies.”
