Scottsdale City Attorney abruptly steps down

The parade of the top leadership leaving since Scottsdale’s new council took office continues with city attorney Sherry Scott abruptly resigning last week.

She leaves in mysterious circumstances as she declined to give the Daily Independent any reason for her departure and her resignation notice with the city only lists her reason for leaving as “retired.”

She has recently dealt with nerve issues in her back, but it’s not clear if that had anything to do with Scott’s retirement.
