The Scottsdale City Council unanimously agreed during its June 23 meeting to buy 15,000-acre-feet of water long-term storage credits out of the Harquahala Valley for $8.25 million, but it’s not clear how much it’s going to cost to eventually get the water to Scottsdale.
In a best case scenario The city would have to build infrastructure to get the water over to a Central Arizona Project infrastructure that could ultimately get it to Scottsdale, but it wasn't clear if CAP would allow the water into its system.
While actually getting the water to Scottsdale was not part of the agenda, it was a topic of discussion.
