Scottsdale aviation group adds to fleet
Posted
Sawyer Aviation, a privately held company headquartered in the Scottsdale Airpark, is adding to its fleet.
The full-service aviation company recently purchased a Cessna Citation CJ1 business jet, valued at $2.5 million. This light business jet that seats six passengers has a 1,000 mile range and fuel efficiency in cruise flight as low as 35 seat-miles-per-gallon, according to a press release.
This addition to the fleet is the third one in recent months, as Sawyer Aviation continues to keep up with its growing demand for private jet-charter flight services. Sawyer Aviation Group also recently acquired two other aircraft under management including an Embraer Phenom 100 and a Bombardier Lear 45XR. Together the acquisition of new planes are valued at nearly $10 million in new equipment.
Sawyer Aviation Chief Financial Officer, Wayne Lorgus worked with Lisa Dow and Catherine Arvizu of Commerce Bank of Arizona to finance the purchase of the Cessna Citation CJ1. In addition to supporting its expanding private charter services, the new aircraft will be used for the company’s lifesaving medevac and organ transplant operations, which account for 40% of its business, the press release stated.
“We are hearing that online search for ‘charter services’ are up 520% over the last 12 months,” said Sawyer Aviation President Chad J. Verdaglio. “Adding to our fleet allows us to increase capacity for meeting the growing demand for services.”
In addition to its personal private charter and medevac services, SawyerMX, a division of Sawyer Aviation, specializes in aircraft maintenance and the company continues to operate Sawyer Flight Academy.
