Scottsdale Aviation Director Gary P. Mascaro retiring

After more than 26 years in the aviation industry - including 15 years dedicated to Scottsdale Airport - Scottsdale Aviation Director Gary P. Mascaro is retiring.

Under his leadership, the Scottsdale Airport successfully served as a hub for two Super Bowls events in 2015 and 2023. He also worked to secure funding for the terminal area redevelopment project, which introduced the new aviation business center building, two executive hangars and enhanced infrastructure to support future expansion.

Rick Wielebski will step in as interim aviation director.
