Scottsdale arts groups awarded $170,000 in grants

The Arizona Commission on the Arts recently award $2.66 million in grants to Arizona nonprofit arts organizations, festivals, and arts learning programs throughout the state, including over $170,000 to Scottsdale arts and culture programs.

In total, 409 grants were awarded to a diverse array of organizations and programs spread across the state, from a community theater in Bullhead City to a pottery festival in Douglas, from world class museums to after-school arts programs, according to a press release from the Arizona Commission on the Arts.

“Creative expression is central to Arizona’s innovation, prosperity, and cultural vitality,” Christina You-sun Park, executive director of the Arizona Commission on the Arts, stated in the release. “Through strategic grant making, the Arizona Commission on the Arts directs public funds to organizations, festivals and programs that strengthen communities, support the state’s creative workforce, and enhance quality of life across Arizona.”
