Scottsdale approves police pay increases to stay competitive

Scottsdale Police Department will be implementing a new pay step system for all sworn employees, effective Sept. 11, after being approved by city council.

On Aug. 22, Scottsdale City Council unanimously approved its consent agenda, which included a resolution to implement the pay step system and amend the department’s job classification pay table.

City officials say the change is needed to be competitive with other Valley agencies, and maintain quality of its sworn employees.
