School of Rock Gilbert, which offers performance-based music education, is putting
on an afternoon of rock and roll at its school  from noon-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15.

Local rockers, including current students, alumni and School of Rock staff will play at School of Rock Gilbert’s 10 Year Anniversary Party.

School of Rock has educated nearly 2,000 students in the past 10 years at its location at 885 E Warner Road, one of nearly 400 locations worldwide.

Through a performance-based approach, School of Rock students are guided from the lesson room to the stage where they will be playing both popular cover songs and original music for a group of friends, family, community members and music lovers at the 10-year anniversary party. The local musicians will showcase their abilities on guitar, bass, piano, keyboard, drums and vocals.

Attendees will hear live performances by the school's house bands, the School of Rock Sugar Skulls and Jr. Sugar Skulls, youth and adult students and alumni bands, and the staff band.

Guests will have the opportunity to tour the school, check out its programs, and schedule free trial lessons. Jeremiah’s Italian Ice and Achiote Latin Cuisine will be onsite
throughout the day.
