SCHOA looking to make changes to protect Sun City

CC&Rs, temporary permits on the radar

Sun City Home Owners Association officials are working to make changes to protect the community’s age restriction.

The targeted changes are both internal and external, and both could be complicated. Officials are concerned because age restriction violations are rising and they point to two major factors in that increase — temporary occupancy permits recommended by the Board of Adjustment and group homes that are appearing in the community.

“Lisa (SCHOA general manager Gray) is working to build a coalition with other age restricted communities regarding the temporary occupancy permits,” Eric Hoagland, SCHOA board president, said. “We will also work with Clint Hickman (Maricopa County District 4 supervisor).”
