So, almost ever year we go through the same things of fees and people getting into Recreation Centers of Sun City West property for free.
Why are we so worried about it? We all have family and friends who want to be with us and enjoy what we have. Everyone is so worried that someone is getting something for free we forget about human kindness.
We as homeowners deserve to have our family and friends come and visit. It doesn’t happen near enough in these times of hardship. How long can they possibly stay anyway, how many times do they get in free? The membership is paid for, so what’s the difference if that member uses it full time or someone else does for the time their not here. You act like you’re the CEO of some big company that needs to make millions of dollars. I don’t think that by breaking a members’ bank of a retired person on a fixed income is the way to go.
A nominal fee for guests is fine, like $2 per person, but what happens when my kid wants to visit bring their three kids, they just spent $2,000 to come and do that? Now they have to pay $25 a day to use the facility and enjoy the time with the grandparents. Plus all their other expenses just to be here. It’s usually the grandparent that ends up paying because they want their children to come back maybe next year. Now, not only do they pay their membership but the cost for the visitors. If you just want to make money, have more snacks, more restaurants, whatever that they can spend it at.
In my opinion, it’s not fun for any of my kids to come and bring their kids because we’re all old and they don’t really care to be around a bunch of old people. You could also make it easier for people to buy passes, maybe a week family pass for $25 dollars, or a renter can purchase a monthly, or yearly pass. Quit trying to be like our politicians and get shit done that’s beneficial to our guests.
